@SilentwolfGRRR Actually they might have since barbarians were not people who where uncivilized, rather they were people who did not speak Greek.

Interesting, I'm perfectly prepared to believe that but from what I have seen it does seem to me that the Greeks had a shared culture in a very similar way to how many Western European nations do today. They certainly produced very similar art, architecture warfare and language.As for Macedonians, that I am less sure about but they were on the boarder of where the city states of the Hellenics broke down to a more tribal culture-The Romans made the differentiation even if the Greeks didn't.
