I'm game for you actually explaining the humor. Because I can easily explain (and have) why it's not funny.

Keep your wit and humour sharp..haha you really are a delusional self appreciating prick aren't you?! British comedy is far superior to any loud mouth brash bollocks that yanks have churned out year after year on a conveyor belt.It makes my heart sing with joy that the nation of fuckwits who voted the likes of George Bush in for a 2nd term do not understand or like our comedy.I'm bored of you now...seriously, we have to agree to disagree, end of story

Let's just get things in perspective shall we? I like many American comedies-always have done since watching Bilko as a kid. I just think that the original Office is funnier than the US version- doesn't mean I won't enjoy other US shows.Maybe I prefer originals-I'm pretty sure I wouldn't like a UK version of South Park, I'm happy with it as it is.

Consider the possibility that after watching years of comedically deficient British programming (including two seasons of "The UK Office") it is your brain that is need of a good washing.Having the desire to keep my wit and humor sharp, I, on the other hand, will not subject it to the dulling effects of mediocre British "comedy".It's enough that I just watched this clip a 2nd time in an attempt to give you the benefit of the doubt. This was awful. The same unfunny, predictable joke repeated.
Stevieboy74 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
That doesn't even deserve a reply. The most ridiculous comment I think I've ever read on youtube, and I defy anyone non American brainwashed to disagree with me.Sorry but I go back to my original statement...you my friend are ABSOLUTELY clueless. Go and watch all 2 series of the original UK office and then pass comment because until you do you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about...period...as you would probably say.

All joking aside, Gervais is a comedy genius. He's just not a very good actor/performer. As long as he keeps feeding brilliant lines to those who can actually deliver them he's gold. Some are just meant to be behind the scenes.

Woah...so witty Spunkmode, well done...see you're getting it, something a bit different there, slightly less than obvious humour, I'm proud of you, especially coming from an American.Go look up the words 'Gervais' and 'Bafta' and we'll see whose clueless. Also try looking up the sheer number of your comedians who quote Gervais as one of their favourite writers and influences. If you can't be bothered though then just keep clapping along to those easy gags and punchlines yeah, good boy.

For those playing at home, the question Stevieboy was asked to answer was, "How would you describe the writers of British comedy?"10 points for Stevieboy! That was, in fact, the answer we were looking for. Bravo!

1 word...clueless

They just started playing commercials saying that this original version of "The Office" is going to start playing on American Television. You would think it would be a good idea to watch it first here to see how it compares. It wasn't. Horrible idea. This was just awful. Perhaps it gets better. Dear Lord let it get better. |
