"It was very important for him [Saddam] to project that because that was what kept him, in his mind, in power. That capability kept the Iranians away. It kept them from reinvading Iraq," Piro says. He also said he miscalculated on Bush, thinking he would just do air raids for a few days.

Also on Iraq, George Piro, FBI, interviewed Saddam after his capture..."He [Saddam] told me that most of the WMD had been destroyed by the U.N. inspectors in the '90s. And those that hadn't been destroyed by the inspectors were unilaterally destroyed by Iraq," Piro says."So why keep the secret? Why put your nation at risk, why put your own life at risk to maintain this charade?" Pelley asks.

Forgive me, Cosmic Fork. I see you that you are for the unborn but you were mentioning that the concern for other areas of need are great too. I agree essentially with you however I do think President Bush did the greatest to defend the unborn and perhaps thought it was in the interests and safety of the USA to go into Iraq. Thanks for your comment, sorry I misread it.

At least the homeless people have life and breath and existence. The unborn never make it out of the womb! As far as Iraq, the UN reported that they have lower civilian murder rates than any major America city. And that was in 2003! The comparison before and after Saddam is very great too. I hope you might be a voice for the unborn.

I respect your comment but I must say that you would agree that we should not have gotten involved in Nazi Germany b/c they never attacked us! May I ask, why do you defend the less helpless and perhaps ignore the grave concern the unborn have. I say this b/c you mention that we should have concern for 500,000 homeless people, which we should, you are right, but seem to discard that 47,000,000 have been aborted in this country.

why do we need to reduce abortion if it is ok?

The Anti-Abortion, "Pro-Life" movement is right, when they say to "Choose Life". But they are WRONG to think that our culture of death in America is limited to Abortion. They are DEAD WRONG. When they vote for a President like Bush, who attacks a country that never attacked us, that's a culture of death. When 1 in 5 children are born in wretched, miserable poverty, in OUR Country, that's a culture of Death. When there's 500,000 to a Million Americans Homeless on our streets, Culture of Death!

I like american abortion lovers. Your freedom to kill babies without any reason goes far beyond most european legislation. In Germany abortion is still anti-constitutional but is allowed under some strict regulations (even with religious oversight). It was forbidden in western Germany before reunification. The german Constitutional Court ruled twice (in 1975 and 1993) that life begins at conception, and many germans are very sensitive because of the atrocious nazi past.
