part 2 of 2... Multiplication (if you do not know how to do that , not to worry as I have simplified that as well. Learn EasyCal trick of Rainbow Multiplication)( X + a ) ( X + b ) = X^2 + (a + b) X + ab That's it. Now suppose you have to multiply 103 x 104So you can write that as ( 100 + 3 ) ( 100 + 4 )

Dear Zhejay , hope you are not referring to the missing article ( a ) as the epic grammar fail "Be (a) Human Calculator" Well I left it out due to SEO reasons during the naming of this video in the year 2007. So far it has proved to be a good decision going by the popularity of this video. Had I known that 3 years later a Grammarian would be interested in learning Mathematics then surely I would have included it :)

Part 1of 2 Dear Eingeweide88 , what I have demonstrated in the EasyCal Video above is a simplified way of using the Algebraic Identity . The idea was to enable any student to be able to use it and learn to calculate fast. If your teacher wants a Mathematical proof then even that is easy to provide. Identity ( X + a ) ( X + b )where X is what I have called a Base and a & b are the respective distance from the base. Expand the above identity using Binomial ........ part 2

Dear hairy60, Base is a friendly number that we use as a point of reference to multiply 'not so friendly' (read: difficult ) numbers. Bases are of 2 kinds : Primary and Secondary. All powers of 10 like 10, 100, 1000 so on constitute primary base . Certain multiples of 10 (other than its powers) can be taken as secondary bases like 20, 30 .... 50 .... 150....200 . To see things in action, watch the 3rd EasyCal Video on glad2teach website.
